Varieties of Avocado
Avocado is a fatty,flavorful,delicious fruit,available in many varieties,but Has Avocado are most famous and rest are like Reed, Fuerte, Zutano,and Bacon counted as rarities.The fruit is native to Caribbean and Central America and is mostly eaten in North and South America.The avocado species are divided into three race Mexican, Guatemalan, and West Indian.
There are hundred of varieties of avocado but seven are famous,all the varieties are different from one another due to their shape,size,taste and texture available that's are grown in California,Los Angeles,Santa Barbara,and Florida.Here are a list of some famous varieties of avocados.
HASS
Hass is the largest commercially produce variety of avocado of California.It is distinctive for its skin from the rest of varieties.The skin of fruit is rough green and turn purplish-black when ripe

LAMB HASS
Lamb hass is similar to hass avocado variety,but is typically large than Hass. The fruit is pear shaped ,with medium-sized stone the skin is some smother as compare to Hass,the color of skin change green to black when fruit is ripe.

ZUTANO
Zutano is a smooth yellow-green shiny skin,pear-like shaped Mexican Avocado variety .The Zutano variety derived form Mexican strain and was developed in California. An avocado tree provide an ornamental presence in a garden.
Zutano has less oil content and lower in fat than Hass .The thin green skin having a waxy bumps and it difficult to peel it.The flesh of fruit is yellow to greener from the skin.The fruit is seasonal and is available from September to December. Zutano tree is more cold weather tolerant and can survive down to 25 degrees.

BACON
The Bacon avocado are available in oval shaped,with green and smooth skin.the taste of fruit is light and it is easy to peel.its stone is range from medium to large size.

This Pinkerton avocado is a very long neck pear shaped having excellent peeling characteristic and a great beautiful taste.It is also a cold tolerant variety.Pinkerton avocado has shrugged off 25°F cold with minimal protection and no damage.
Its weight is ranging from 8 to 18 oz.It has a small seed,creamy oily flesh and flavor is rich and nutty.The skin of Pinkerton avocado is thin and green when unripe and remains green even though the fruit becomes ripe and it is easy to peel.Its ripe when it's soft to the touch,not when it turns dark.
REED
Reed avocado are round shaped,very delicious,creamy,smooth and buttery.The reed is side crop of California reserved mostly for the local former's market.In the US about 90% of the avocado is grown in California.
